Tradebe Upskilling Using the Apprenticeship Levy

Tradebe UK
Tradebe and the Apprenticeship Levy

We are pleased to report that the first Tradebe employees to have taken advantage of the UK Apprenticeship Levy have enrolled in a Nuclear Health Physics Monitoring course at Bridgewater College, and are being mentored by a senior Tradebe colleague.

Introduced in April 2017, the Apprenticeship Levy is a new policy to encourage UK employers to fund new apprenticeships. Tradebe pay into the Levy and this money  can be made available to  pay for training / upskilling of our staff based at  sites in England, provided that approved and authorised training  providers are used to deliver training. Separate schemes are in place in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.  The objective of the Levy is to boost productivity by investing in human capital, developing vocational skills and increasing the quality and quantity of UK apprenticeships. By utilising the Apprenticeship Levy Tradebe is able to upskill our current work force as well as supporting apprentices in the  future.

By using the Apprenticeship Levy, Tradebe has been able to offer several employees the chance to develop and expand their skill sets, while also fulfilling site requirments of increased Health Physics Monitors. Nuclear Health Physics Monitors provide vital radiological monitoring services to support the control of radiation and contamination and add significant value through reinforcing radiological safety standards. The apprenticeship levy  provides an opportunity to upskill our workforce in all areas of the business, and we are confident that Tradebe’s investment in this will result in increased career progression and add tangible skills to our workforce.
