Marlow, 17th May: Tradebe Healthcare and Chesterfield Royal are together celebrating after being awarded the ‘Supplier of the Year’ at this year’s NHS Sustainability Awards. The awards ceremony recognises and rewards action and innovation that create a more sustainable NHS.
Tradebe Healthcare and Chesterfield Royal have a strong working partnership dedicated to driving a sustainable, cost-effective and compliant clinical waste management service throughout the Trust. This award is a huge achievement for both parties who have worked hard to effectively implement a number of sustainable projects that have delivered both financial and environmental benefits to the Trust.
Chesterfield’s most notable project presented was the introduction of an offensive waste compactor, which enabled an alternative ‘zero waste to landfill’ solution, as well as reducing clinical waste collections from five to two times per week. This project delivered significant CO2 savings. Another project maximised the use of the sharps management system, which delivers cost savings in the packaging of healthcare wastes.
