Tradebe Supports The Fight Against Food Poverty

Tradebe UK
Tradebe begins the year by donating to local Trussell Trust food banks across the UK that provide emergency food parcels and additional support to ease the pressure on vulnerable people living in food poverty in our local communities.

Funds have been donated to help those facing food insecurities in the local communities in which we operate. Our employee’s donations, along with matched funding from Tradebe, totalled £3,760 and was given to 19 local food bank centres close to our Tradebe sites.

Sue Wishart, Tradebe HR Director said: “With food banks continuing to experience unprecedented demands, our Tradebe team wanted to do something to help at a local level that would contribute to supporting vulnerable people suffering from food poverty within our local communities. We are delighted to make a contribution to the tremendous efforts of the Trussell Trust community food banks in their admirable and vital work in helping to combat poverty and hunger.”

The Trussell Trust experienced a 47 per cent increase in food bank use throughout 2020, and Tradebe hopes that these funds will help to support its local food bank centres in providing emergency food and compassionate, practical support to people in crisis, while helping to campaign for long-term change to the structural issues that lock people into poverty.
