Vauxhall in Partnership with Tradebe

Vauxhall Motors manufacture and distribute vehicles from their two UK facilities in Luton and Ellesmere Port, while their Toddington site is a spare parts warehousing operation. As expected from an automotive manufacturer, Vauxhall Motors produce a wide variety of waste streams from recyclables (plastics, paper, glass and metals) to hazardous waste (solvents, oils and various organic and inorganic wastes) and “general” waste.

As responsible waste producers, Vauxhall Motors is dedicated to ensuring that their waste is managed in a compliant and environmentally, sustainable way that is cost effective for the company. Vauxhall require 100% landfill diversion, as insisted upon by their parent company General Motors.

In Oct 2013, Vauxhall Motors awarded Tradebe the contract for Total Waste Management (TWM) for both their manufacturing and warehouse facilities in the UK. Our dedicated teams are building long term relationships with Vauxhall Motors to fully maximise their recycling potential and reduce overall waste production and expenditure.

“The main aims from our partnership with Vauxhall Motors will be to deliver cost effective waste solutions that will continue to improve their environmental performance in the automotive manufacturing industry, as well as ensuring that waste is safely dealt with in accordance with current legislation.

“Within a the first few months, Tradebe has already made some significant capital investments in waste and materials handling equipment in order to deliver a sustainable solution to Vauxhall Motors.

“We look forward to reporting some excellent developments in the near future.”
